Royston Town (H) 26/08/2019

August Bank Holiday Monday sees the visit of the Crows of Royston Town. Last seasons' corresponding fixture saw the Trawlerboys run out 2-0 winners and the away day saw a 1-1 draw.

Royston have made a modest start to the season, with 7 points from the first 4 games, 1 point ahead of the hosts. The Trawlerboys will be looking to bounce back from the 5-3 reverse at Redditch after surrendering a 3-1 lead in a game that the management admitted there were a few lessons to be learnt going forwards.

It promises to be a hot one it terms of weather at least, a factor which could prove to be a leveller as much as wind and rain? Either way, after Saturdays disappointment a positive bounce back is certainly important to keep morale up and the momentum going.

Come on you blues!!

At best a pessimist is invariably proved correct, at worst he is pleasantly surprised...........😉

FT: Lowestoft Town 0-1 Royston Town. Att 474.

Certainly the hottest football match ive ever watched, (following on from the most windiest match that ive been to at St Neots last season...) The conditions were certainly a leveller with the hot sunshine and a hard pitch and as Terrys report alludes to, luck eluded us once again. Overall a match to forget but two poor sides, not fought out a game which never looked like being a goal fest.

A criticism i will air, Luis in goal he has done OK so far this season I've seen him but really must make more of a habit to catch the ball rather than push it back out for the visitors to tap in the rebound. Sadly that was what we lacked late on when the woodwork foiled Dylan and frustratingly despite having 10 outfield players on the pitch, there was no one to follow up to tap the ball home.

Later today we'll find out our opponents in the FA Cup draw, or as someone joked yesterday - 'We'll find out who we're away to in the cup'...
