Dulwich Hamlet (H) 10/02/2018.
9th Feb, 2018 at 5:37pm

This weekend sees the visit of Dulwich Hamlet - all being well after a fair period of rain earlier this morning plus several showers since and as a result there will be a pitch inspection at 8am or  8:30am tomorrow at the Amber Dew Events Meadow depending on who you read; http://www.pitchero.com/clubs/dulwichhamlet/news/check-before-you-travel-2176362... or http://www.isthmian.co.uk/match-info/match-centre/1-2865239
Either way I'm sure we'll know by 9am.

The weather is expected to be largely dry overnight once the last few drizzly showers have cleared this evening, before another belt of rain is scheduled to arrive tomorrow evening, hopefully after FT...

Earlier this season a trip to Dulwich saw us leave unsurprisingly empty handed after a certain Ricky Hayles gave the hosts a 1-0 win with a late second half goal;
http://www.lowestofttownfcfansforum.co.uk/cgi-bin/Forum/YaBB.pl?num=1511375560

Our last 2 encounters with Dulwich at home have resulted in a win for each side, the last 5 encounters have seen them take victory in 4. http://www.pitchero.com/clubs/dulwichhamlet/teams/56196/match-centre/1-2865239

Currently despite their league position, Dulwich sit 14th in the leagues 'last 6' form table, having slipped to a few disappointing results and seemingly blowing any chance of being a tangible challenge to Billericays' dominance, who will have to play 3-4 games a week until the end of the season, the way their season is going... Hamlets most recent game as a 0-0 with Met Police, preceding that 3 straight defeats to Wingate, Merstham and Margate have seen them pick up 7 points from a possible 18 over 6 games.

It will be an interesting game for the home faithful with town finally getting justice for a number of battling displays by resoundingly beating Enfield 3-0 during the week, with the return of Rob Eagle invigorating the team and helping end Jake Reeds goal drought, could this game be a banana skin for those fans of accumulator bets? I'm sure the players will again be fast out of the traps come 3pm tomorrow, morning pitch conditions permitting of course.

Come on you blues!!

Official source says
"Today’s game vs Dulwich Hamlet is called off due to frozen pitch.
Rescheduled date will be announced in due course."

Been quite dry, not as cold (max of 2.5C today!) predicted 5-6C tomorrow, we should be good to go.

A quick mini preview but not much to add to what was stated in the first post on the thread.

Towns last home win was the comprehensive 3-0 over Enfield but since this last scheduled date for this game, a lot has changed for the home side and to an extent our visitors. Both teams have their well documented issues off the pitch with Dulwich seeing a move to ground share at Tooting and Mitcham for the remainder of this season as the dispute with the Champion Hill owners continues; http://www.pitchero.com/clubs/dulwichhamlet/news/club-statement-15032018-2216519...

On the pitch, things have been better for Hamlet picking up all three points against Worthing last weekend and unbeaten in 6, although including 4 draws wasting the opportunity somewhat to catch and make ground the stuttering Billericay.

For town, after the recent postponements, this game going ahead will be a tonic to relieving the strained bank balance, hopefully there will plenty of people through the turnstiles buying 50/50s and golden goal tickets.

It will also be a chance to see the team minus the recent departures of Ben, Jake and Harry, and welcome the new signings Ross Marshall and Max Melanson and any of those those making a step up from the academy too.

Will be a big game in many ways and at least the prospects of it going ahead are very strongly  in favour!

Come on you blues!!

Ahh forgot about him, knew there was another, just couldn't think.

Also forgot to mention player of the season voting forms will be available from the club shop. Hope I've done enough!

The stay tuned for positive news was and still is at the end of the article for Ben leaving - news then followed of the 2 signings of Ross and Max, I think that is exciting as it gets now, exciting as we're signing players who are young and eager to get out there and make an impact - hopefully they will be given a chance this time! Look forward to seeing what role they will have tonight.

Elvijs was playing well before I left, considering that he had not had a game for a long time I applaud him Smiley

I have been advised tonight that the owners of this forum are being investigated, and was asked who pays for it. . As one of the "owners" I must urge all users of the forum to stick to facts and reasonable discussion about our Club and in particular to avoid personal insult and defamatory speculation.
Failing this, I will personally take steps to close down the forum.

Plethora and myriad come to mind  Grin Grin Grin

No surprise tonight as went went down 3-1.

Jarvis leaves to relieve the wage anchor, ironically Leacock was our only used sub this evening.

And on to the big one this Saturday.

They lost at home tonight 1-3 too.

9/10⏳

Once again our keeper was MoM, making one excellent point blank save an d several other good saves. Could not faulted for a good first goal, a scrambled go for the second and a fortunate break for the third. Dulwich were very good on the ball, wasted nothing and looked as good as their position at the top of the table. Having said that we did give them plenty of room to play and knock the ball about. Every player in blue gave heart and soul for the shirt even though some were obviously out of their depth. The team kept going and were rewarded with a second half clean sheet and an added time goal to ruin the Hamlet’s clean sheet. A good crowd to get some urgently money into the coffers and a generous bucket collection. The team, manager and fans were all winners, in a way, this evening. Saturday will prove to be a difficult encounter, but we could have Smithy, Shaun and Amari in the squad. Well played Blues.
