Which Division next season?
11th Dec, 2017 at 8:32pm

The subject of which league Lowestoft will be competing in next season came up in discussion on Saturday over a few 🍷🍷🍷🍷
As I'm sure most are now aware the FA have agreed the new structure at Step 3 and below......discussed here earlier in the year.
http://www.lowestofttownfcfansforum.co.uk/cgi-bin/Forum/YaBB.pl?num=1485282127

Robert Jones, a Warrington fan, has provided a comprehensive view of where the FA will allocate clubs in the following season, on the Tony Kempster non league forum.
For the past six years I have been following his predictions for the next seasons leagues. He has been correct about which league Lowestoft will compete in, each and every year.

His latest allocations for next season show us remaining in the Isthmian Premier of the new four league structure at Level 3....

If he is proved correct yet again, then we can look forward to return visits to many of our current Isthmian League counterparts. The line dividing East and West bisects London and we lose Met Police, Harrow, Levred and Kingstonian along with Staines. No Bank Holiday "Derbies" with Kings Lynn either.

As his projections are based on a points per game basis we can 'look forward' to a return to Whitehawk. We could be revisiting Cray and one of my favourites Lewes. On the same basis a couple of new names in Corinthian Casuals and somewhat surprisingly Heybridge Swifts.

Interestingly Heybridge have played more Cup than league games to date !!!
17 v 11.
With only eleven games completed in Isthmian League One North they are currently mid table with 25pts and could yet challenge Hornchurch for the title.
Although, unlike Billericay, I'm not sure that that the Swifts possess the necessary playing strength to play Tues/Sat for the rest of the season; and their exploits in the Trophy are not over yet. Hampton and Richmond next up.

These projections presume of course that we are not relegated, which thankfully now looks a very distant prospect.😎

That would be my preferred option, I have about £15 credit on my Dartford Crossing account Cheesy. It would put us with Merstham, which I enjoyed, as well as Lewes which is also one of my favourites Smiley

After the debacle of the National League North, South, North Again, if the FA have any opportunity, it wouldn't surprise me if they placed us here http://uk.soccerway.com/national/netherlands/tweede-divisie/20172018/regular-sea....

It is step 3 after all.

I note that the current leaders of the Tweede Division are VV Katwijk

a pleasant coastal town once twinned with Lowestoft.

Whatever happened to that arrangement?

In 1996 the 34-year twinning link with Katwijk stopped because they couldn't keep enough interest for it going as Lowestoft is boring (according to reports at the time).
It was always a civic and ceremonial partnership, not a people-led one like the twinning with the Ville de Plaisir.

Better than fighting though, the formation of the EU has brought a period of peace and stability ............
