Billericay v Lowestoft Town 3 Oct 2017 POSTPONED
1st Oct, 2017 at 7:43am

Billericay failed to beat National South team Hungerford yesterday in the third qualifying round of The Emirates FA Cup so will replay on Tuesday.

Owner and manager Tamplin said: “We’ve drawn 1-1 with a good side but we were blatantly cheated by the referee.

“We should have had a stonewall penalty but instead the referee gave a free kick the other way and booked Ricky Modeste.

“It really feels at the moment as though we are playing against up to 14 men with the officials.”

It's a bit of a bummer that this has been canceled as Billericay have a long list of players currently on suspension as they've picked up 5 red cards in consecutive matched. Those players will probably be available for the rearranged fixture.

There was me thinking it a good postponement to get some of our wounded up and running again.

Tuesday 10th October, an unpleasantly long trip for Folkestone to us. I think I'll offer "cup of tea welcome" vouchers to any supporters who make the trip, the kitty is empty following Worthing's visit, any contributions will be lovely Smiley

I will go out on a limb and state that we won't win a match in October.

Four away trips and a tough home encounter v Folkestone may suggest that your first instincts are well placed.

However three of those trips are to sides that are as inconsistent as us...notably Burgess Hill, Mertsham and Worthing.

Worthing have suffered a disproportionate amount of away games due to their 3G surface being deemed unplayable by the FA. I would reckon that their spirits currently are at a low ebb so I can't see a better time to rock up at their place and secure our name in the hat for the next round of the Trophy.

Burgess Hill whom we visit on Saturday are another club who are not have hardly set the league on fire with their performances this term and our record against them bodes well. Two wins from two games.

If you're planning on making the trip down to Sussex this weekend then if you rock up at my place around midday we can share the journey south together.

I fancy us to record a second league win on the road v the Hillians but I'm certainly not prepared to stake money on it.

Maybe your assertion of nil points for the month of October is based on our historical record of autumnal catastrophes or are you just playing devils advocate?

I'll be with you at 11:30 and I'll buy you lunch - I've never been to Burgess Hill so you pick the eats.

I didn't say we'll get 'nil points' just the 3 points might elude us - and Worthing is a disaster waiting to happen.

Off the Folkestone website; http://www.folkestoneinvictafc.co.uk/news/1849

LOWESTOFT AWAY – (NEXT) TUESDAY OCTOBER 10th – POSTPONED

The Bostik League has offered all clubs in F A Cup 4th Round Qualifying the option of postponing their midweek league game and we have accepted the offer.

Should the league really be offering this in the first place? Has it ever done so before?

Unless the Needham game is moved forward to the 14th then no home games this month as it stands.

Another appalling new law, dreamt up by some dimwit!

This league has always suffered with a backlog of fixtures when the harsher weather kicks in. So to postpone games that COULD and SHOULD be played, is a disgraceful and short-sighted decision, that will just make the fixture backlog in the final third of the season even worse.

Must be a new law as I remember a couple of seasons ago when we were forced to play a league game away from home and then forced to travel away from home a day later for an FA Trophy tie at Sutton.
