Geat work Ritchie, but we do not have any hills down here. I am not into outdoor training myself, I have rersurrected my Wii and do some step, lunges and a bit of jogging 3 times a week. Do not forget the tale of the hare and the tortoise. As long as I get to the match I will be content, times only mean something to Olympians.

im only running it due to the fact that i needed a kick up the backside to do something about my fitness. When i heard about the walk I thought great idea but would rather run it. Also you have the advantage of being able to drink Trawlerboys and Orange Wheat Beer every day but for me its a once a month treat so I need to get to the bar pretty damn quick. Dont know about times but if i can do it in 2.5 hours I will be one happy trawlerboy. As for the hill training if i can do well on hills up here the flat of east anglia will be a luxury .
Keep on running and see you soon

Well another milestone cracked today, Did a four miler (well 4.2 according to www.mapmyrun.com)
The mile and a half uphill along Ashton Old Road was a real old slog but on this route the last mile home is on the flat. Small blister on left instep, looking forward to the rest day tomorrow

Well after 2 days off due to work commitments I dragged my self out of my scratcher this morning and did the 2 and a bit circuit off road apart from the big hill at the end which is back o the hard stuff. felt crap first ten mins then bucked up into a nice easy pace. went balls out up the hill and had a fast 30 sec recovery walk at the summit, then gentle jog home. Always nice to run in a bit of drizzle !!!

Another Milestone Reached Today. 5 Miles, a couple of nasty hills on the way, felt crap for the first mile again then it all fell into place. Still kept up around  the 10 min pace im aiming for as it took approx 48 mins

Back on the road today after a two day lay offf, one due to attending the Carling Cup Final and yesterday as the plumbers had renewed the facia in the shower so it was out of action for 24 hours.
However today being another day i logged on to www.mapmyrun.com and found a nice  4 mile route with a couple of NLFs (nasty little  Smileys)  my new name for Hills on route. kept to my pace and felt good even the first mile wasnt such a drag today

3 Mile run but jiggled it about about to combine some sprint training in as well. 2 mile jog and then for the last mile 20 second sprints followed by 20 seconds walk then upped it to 30 seconds, gentle jog for the last 2/10ths of a mile home

Didn't feel like going yesterday after the late shift at work, so this morning i managed to drag myself away from stupid games on the laptop and hit the tarmac. Found my other halfs GPS Watch and off i went, the gadget told me I did 6.14 miles in 57.25 mins so although I have cracked the 6 mile barrier and felt good i have still not cracked the running for an hour !!!!!

Well latest update after taking a week off through pullinhg a muscle in my back i managed a 3 miler along the norfolk broads last week which was good to run out of the city centre for a change, bit rusty but after a wek off what do you expect.  Did a 3 miler on Monday however had to many layers on no water and it was hot so it was a bit of a struggle but not as bad as the 3 mile run walk on tuesday, same route home from work however i had stuffed a rather large chinese buffet down my throat for lunch and 3 hours before running it wasnt a very good idea. Hence to say it was more walking than running as i was ill all the way home !!!

Today did 4.5 miles  changing my route for a nice run along the Ashton Canal and everything seems to be back on track, my most enjoyable run since i did the 6 miles a brace of weeks ago

Quick update, had a nice run on Sunday 21st along a bridlepath in the shropshire hills, though once again it was a struggle at the start may have something to do with the four bottles of Red consumed by me and my brother the saturday night !!  Total miles just a tadge under 4

Monday run home from work along the Rochdale and Ashton Canals, left work in pouring rain so wrapped up well, ten mins into run heatwave !!!!. Tuna Pasta Salad still not a light enough lunch 3 hours prior to a 4.5 mile run !!!!. Though I didnt add any garbage to the Canal this time !!!

Rest day today and back out in the morning
