Title: St. Neots Town (H) 23/10/18

Following a battling 0-0 draw with Barwell on Saturday, its another home game as we welcome St. Neots Town to the amber dew events stadium.

Having arrested a run of 4 straight defeats, the trawelerboys will be looking to build on Saturdays point whilst the visitors, who sit one place below town in the league will be looking to avenge a 3-1 defeat in the league cup three weeks previous. Itr will be a sense of deja vu for them making a trip here midweek and hopefully for the town, result wise aswell. http://www.lowestofttownfcfansforum.co.uk/cgi-bin/Forum/YaBB.pl?num=1538418220

The Saints will be looking to bounce back after going out of the FA cup 4-0 at Alfreton, taking with them 300 fans in the process, i doubt similar numbers will make the trip out east! http://www.stneotstownfc.co.uk/item/2016-disasterous-opening-half-hour-effectively-ends-the-saints-fa-cup-adventure-at-alfreton-town.html

A preview from the saints;

A good opportunity for town to build on Saturdays point and hopefully there will be a few faces back from injury.

Come on you blues!!

FT: Lowestoft Town 1-2 St Neots Town
Att; 238

The visitors took all 3 points in a breezy encounter, bother weather wise and on the pitch - the visitors mastered the conditions much better, looked much more organised going forward and contained several pacey players. Indeed this was a very different team from that which visited in the league cup 3 weeks previous.

As the game went on things got worse and worse for the referee who was dreadful in his inconsistency in awarding free kicks and whether or not players got a card, proving frustrating for the home side.

Schaar gave a glimmer of hope, coming on as sub and burying a rebound shot following a free kick 10 minutes from time but again throughout you always felt we lacked that end product to put the ball into the net. Its going to be a long season if we dont get ourselves organised, the same goes for our fitness as we have still, many players out their exact injuries i dont all know..

First six pointer lost and dangerously hovering one place above the drop zone. The paucity of efforts on goal, whether on target or not is a significant concern. Enfield will present a real challenge to the young chaps.

Tough watch that one, felt sorry for the lads who to be honest were outfought, thought & played. It did look like men against boys this time , but no point pointing the finger lets hope they learn quickly, nice feet are one thing but physicality won out last night and will again I suspect.
Fair play to st neots ,learnt the league cup lesson and  double teamed Kieran and apart from the odd flash of talent from Connor that was us well and truly snuffed out.
So then it fell on the back line again , but alas this time two could have been a few more with the lightweight midfield giving little protection.
Apart from a little flurry near the end when st neots should have been out of sight  we had very little to cheer about, thankfully we could turn our attentions to the ref who was conned time and time again and must be culpable for the ugly mess it ended up.
Message to jamie, understood why kieran was central but it negated his real talent of running at the back four from deep,( our best hope of success)  Connor did it  to some effect.
Its only october and some experience to come back and help the youngsters compete  is a positive I hope !
I sat with the enfield scout saturday, quite complimentary, he would have scribbled out his notes if he watched thaat one.
