Todays FA Trophy first round qualifying draw sees us with a home tie to our old Ishmian friends Enfield town. Winning clubs at this stage will receive £3250 from the competition's prize fund.

Detailed preview to follow in due course...

So this Saturday sees us converge on the Amber Dew Events Stadium for the third time in 7 days, following a 0-0 against Barwell and a 2-1 defeat to St Neots on Tuesday can we finally make it third time lucky with a win? It should be an interesting game, with a full supporters coach making its way from north London, the atmosphere should be buoyant from an away perspective, if a little tempered by the bitter north wind which is forecast to arrive.

Our previous encounter here resulted in a 3-0 for the Trawlerboys and a rather late night then followed at the Stanford... http://www.lowestofttownfcfansforum.co.uk/cgi-bin/Forum/YaBB.pl?num=1517859882

It certainly wont be easy and despite home advantage many will see us as underdogs against opponents who sit forth in the Bostik premier league with 4 wins from their last 6, including a 6-0 win over Whitehawk and most recently a 2-1 at Tonbridge.

Their squad contains up top, former Billericay striker Billy Bricknell so our young squad will have plenty to do and a lot to prove if they can pull off some sort of result. We'll have to see if anyone is fit enough to make a return from injury.

Come on you blues!!

grim old day, but the 280 odd in  must have enjoyed that one, it flowed from start, almost to the finish and we had a decent ref, a pleasant change on recent appointments.
There was a better balance to our side from the off which actually gave some action in the opposition box including a fine Armani effort and a more even game ensued.
Enfield had clearly come to play, which gave us space in transition to exploit of course they created chances through their approach but not too many and there were no  glaring misses for them to rue.
Second half the game became even more stretched as the weather got worse , it helped us as pace and fitness carved out a few half chances and less for them as it wore on.A replay looked inevitable although not very attractive then a scrappy 89th minute goal  saved the lads from that journey and some much needed ££  slipped away.

Another game where we were a match for our opponents, a big improvement on tuesday by the way but alas if you don't score you will always be susceptible to cruel defeats.

Player wise-Elvijs faultless, the back four solid with Rossi standing out with his leadership and distribution , the midfield better balanced with Connor like Rossi particularly, looking to get on the ball and link play.Kieran and Connor were lively and creative and Armani offered a lot more than last time.
My pick would have been largely unnoticed by most in the first hour, I had kept an eye on him throughout as it was an area we needed to improve, he chased, covered, tackled and played it simple when in possession. Then as the weather got worse he became more influential in possession , better passes driving runs and still the cover work and set up Bammo near the end Henry must have impressed all by the end.
So again no complaints , a fine game to watch , another tough defeat and plenty of positives, if they can keep their confidence up.

The blues more than matched Enfield all over the pitch, with quicker thinking we should have had more shots on goal, as it was shooting opportunities were squandered in favour of “one more pass”. We did Force the Enfield keeper into making the only real saves of the game as we exerted more pressure in the second half. Another last minute goal against but in all honesty we did not need an extra mid week game away from the meadow.
